Assessor

The Assessor is responsible for the teaching, assessment and on-going support of learners at Allied Healthcare for Southern England region. This will involve taking responsibility for learners and ensuring that they are able to successfully complete their diploma or qualifications. To practice and promote the company vision, being a visible, competent and supportive role model by promoting best practice and the delivery of high quality, person centred care.

Role & Responsibilities

•    To provide high quality teaching and assessment for learners in developing their knowledge, competence and confidence.
•    To assist in the development and delivery of all Assessment and Qualifications activity.
•    To review learner progress regularly and report challenges, concerns and issues to the Lead Internal Quality Assurer
•    At all times to adhere to the awarding body and Allied’s standards of practice, ensuring that highly levels of behaviour are aligned to Allied’s ethos, that best practice is demonstrated and regulatory requirements are met.
•    To implement safe working practices ensuring that PREVENT and Safeguarding is incorporated into training delivery.
•    To manage all aspects of assessment and teaching of diplomas and unitised qualifications.
•    Actively adhere to the monitoring process to be adopted across all training provision provided by Allied Healthcare.
•    Ensuring that practice meets the requirements of code of practice and actively participating in supervision, standardisation and team meetings.

Training and Development

•    To deliver induction, update and refresher training to all new carers, monitoring progress and reporting on-going individual development needs.
•    To support and audit the delivery of the carer on-boarding process in branches, ensuring that all employees have an appropriate induction which includes a personal development plan.
•    To deliver specialist and bespoke training requirements from across the wider department in conjunction with subject matter experts using a range of resources, techniques and technologies.
•    To attend all relevant meetings and development workshops to ensure continuous development of own self and training materials.

Qualifications & Experience - Essential

•    Assessment experience and evidence in accordance with D32/33, A1, TAQA Standards
•    Occupational competence and a firm understanding of the H&SC training agenda
•    Proficiency in training, presenting and group activity facilitation
•    Ability to produce clear, concise and structured reporting
•    Current driving license with access to own transport
•    Willingness to travel to multiple sites and Allied’s Head Office with some overnight stays

Desirable
•    Experience of delivering distance learning modules or programmes
•    Level 3/4/5 in Health and Social Care
•    Level 2 Key/Functional Skills in Literacy and Numeracy
•    D34/V1, TAQA Standards in Quality Assurance
•    PTLLS or Award in Education & Teaching
