Senior Systems Consultant (Server and Database)

Reporting to the Senior Systems Consultant (or Team Leader), the Systems Consultant (Server and Database) incl Senior is responsible for encapsulating a complete end-to-end capability for delivery of on-line solutions including Feasibility, Analysis, Project Control, Design, Development, Migration, Testing and Delivery. The primary function of the role is delivery of business value, and within that, the ability to utilise any core, or available technology to achieve this end.

The post holder will be a Networks specialist working within a small group of technical specialists, who collectively have responsibility for providing efficient network, Server and telecoms support to Allied Healthcare. A realistic, pragmatic, ‘can do’ attitude is essential.

This job description encapsulates the Senior role. Duties and Skills important to a “senior” role is emboldened and can be considered essential.

As a senior member of the team, the post holder is expected to take responsibility for the design, configuration and delivery of technology solutions involving servers and databases and be seen as a trusted knowledge worker with respect to some architectural direction and skills (coaching, mentoring and leading by example) within the team.

Qualifications & Experience
•    Minimum of degree level qualification is preferred; however relevant business and technical experience may represent an acceptable equivalent.
•    Recognised (relevant) industry training and certification will also be recognised (please provide details).

Technical Skills and Experience
•    Technical expertise for Microsoft and Citrix systems and all Network developments.
•    Implement and maintain a Windows 2008 Server/Windows Server 20012 Active Directory (inc. Microsoft WINS, DNS and DHCP).
•    Implement and maintain Citrix and Presentation Server and component systems.
•    System Monitoring and Capacity management skills.
•    Solarwinds monitoring.
•    Symantec Backup Exec.
