Group IT Project Manager

Job Title: HCRG - IT Project Manager

Location: Stafford (ST18 0FX)

Hours: 3 Month Fixed Term Contract working 40hrs per week

Salary: £20,000 - £25,000 per annum – Depending on experience

The IT Project Manager is responsible for assisting (across the full range of project management tasks) in the day-to-day management of multiple projects; co-ordinating project and workstream activities to support the design, development, management and delivery of IT projects across the group and supporting the day to day aspects of the Group IT Project Manager to improve business efficiency and productivity.

Some Role Responsibilities

  • Responsible for project/workstream delivery (including risk and issue management, reporting, milestone achievement, financial management, comms and engagement, benefits management) and ensuring appropriate governance in place to support project delivery.
  • Utilising best practice project management expertise and methodologies; including change management and configuration control, requirements and scope management, risk and issue management and information management and reporting to support effective management of the day-to-day task of project delivery:
    • Take responsibility for specific work-stream or project outputs
    • Maintain processes to ensure appropriate project documentation, reports and planning.
    • Lead the development of project plans to identify project tasks, deliverables and milestones and resourcing requirements.
    • Ensure project control documentation is in place.
    • Monitor progress against agreed milestones and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
    • Management of risk, ensuring that each has an owner, clearly defined impact and mitigating actions.
    • Capture and record lesson learnt information.
    • Reporting & escalating to the lead project / programme manager.
  • Effective coordination of, and support to, key governance meetings and events (e.g. Project Boards), including scheduling, diary management, timely preparation of support materials to defined standards, such as agendas, status reporting and specific presentations, accurate minutes, and the publication of pre-reads and tracking of associated decisions and action updates.
  • Supports the timely population of key MI data feeds, such as the RAID log, the plan, programme or project status reports, resource forecast reviews, and financial tracking (Weekly, Monthly, or ad-hoc).

Qualifications & Experience

  • Good inter-personal skills, including the ability to converse will all levels of management and staff, written and verbally.
  • Enthusiasm, and strong hands-on, can-do approach and an appetite to learn.
  • Excellent level of personal organisation, effective written and verbal communications skills.
  • Experience across various Windows platforms and software applications such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio and SmartSheet.
  • A methodical approach to process; an aptitude for accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Educated to GCSE / O ‘Level English & Maths or equivalent.
  • Ability to work with teams from both technical and non-technical backgrounds.
